Terms of Service

TakeoverBoard displays one "board" at a time. Visitors submit a take amount. The highest take takes over the screen and holds it until another visitor submits a higher take amount. Prices decay automatically over time, making the screen more affordable the longer it sits.

A name is collected to credit your take on the board. You may only use the Service to place lawful content and must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.

All claims are in U.S. dollars (USD). A take must exceed the current price by at least the minimum increment shown on the Service. Payment is processed by Paddle, our merchant of record, in accordance with Paddle's own terms and privacy policy. When you submit your submission, you authorise Paddle to collect payment for the amount of your submission. If the screen is took by someone else between the time you submitted your submission and the time your payment completes, your submission loses and your payment is refunded in full. You may not use the Service for commercial advertising, business promotion, or third-party product/service marketing. The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial expression only.

You are solely responsible for the content you place on the board. You must not post content that:

• is unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive;
• infringes any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
• is hateful, harassing, defamatory, or threatening towards any person or group;
• depicts illegal activity, graphic violence, or sexually explicit material;
• is spam, malware, phishing, or otherwise harms the Service or its users.

All content is subject to manual review before it appears on the screen. We may reject or remove any content in our sole discretion.

We aim to keep the board available and up to date, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including availability of the screen, the accuracy of displayed prices, or uninterrupted display. We are not liable for any losses incurred while a display is interrupted, delayed, or taken down.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TakeoverBoard and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any take shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant take.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, and remove displayed content, at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
